middle School Life Camp
All camps are free and will begin at 12:30 and end at 4:30. Snacks will be provided at 2:00 each afternoon. Students who have dietary needs may bring their own snack. Sign-in will open each day at 12:15. Each camp has a limit of ten students. Once the limit for a camp has been reached, we will note on the registration form that that camp is **Closed.
Art Camp- June 15, 16, & 17 (Camper Limit: 10)
Fill up your creative tank for Art Camp! We will be doing all kinds of projects at this camp: water color tutorials, canvas painting tutorials, Pinterest projects, Tie-Dye and more! Our goal is to teach you some skills and give you the confidence to do these projects at home with your friends. How fun would it be for you to host a paint night!?
***Supply List for campers to bring: Cheap water color paint set, colored pencils, water color paper book, small bottle of Mod Podge of your choice, Paint brush set (they will need a fat brush about an inch wide, a medium brush about a 1/2 inch or 1/4 inch wide, and a tiny detail brush.
Chef Camp- June 29, 30, & July 1 (Camper Limit: 10)
Neutralize your palate for Chef Camp! A full 3 days of learning simple snack recipes including “no bake” snacks, cup cakes & decorating, and more. Snacks will be shared with the group, camps staff, and the Martinsburg Rescue Mission. Our partnership with them makes it easy for our Chef Camp students to be a huge blessing to the Rescue Mission. At the end of camp each day our Director will make deliveries to the men at the Mission. How fun would it be for you to invite your friends over to your house and make a bunch of snacks to be a blessing to someone in our community!?
No supplies needed.
Adventure Camp- July 13, 14, 15 (Camper Limit: 10)
Get your fishing pole ready! Our Director (Pastor Kyle: Youth Pastor at New Life Community Church) has a stocked fishing pond at his home in Hedgesville. Once you register you will be given the address to his home. The pond is clean and accessible. There is a 90% chance to catch a fish every cast! Students will be able to go on a small hike (about 150 yards) around the property to a nice shade spot for a picnic snack. Our bait will be worms, crickets, and hotdogs. Students will learn how to “string” a fishing pole, how to tie a fisherman's knot, bait a hook, remove fish, make a survival bracelet, feed goats, pet chickens, and learn other adventure tips and tricks.
NOTE***** We anticipate great interest for this camp. We are planning for the possibility of conducting 3 separate ONE DAY camps with different campers each day instead. Details will be provided as interest is received.
Supplies provided by camps: poles, sun screen, bait, snacks, and drinks.
Supplies that students may bring if they want: fishing pole (I know the excitement of catching a fish on your own pole), hat, sunglasses, close toed shoes (for sun and hook protection)
Serve Camp- July 27, 28, 29 (Camper Limit: 10)
Grab your work gloves! This camp still has some details to iron out. Our plan is to approach community parks for projects we can do. Our goal is to design and plant a Butterfly Garden at 3 different park areas in Berkeley County. We are confident that we will have a series of projects and back up projects as the summer progresses. (*Note: concrete details and updates will be emailed to parents). Be prepared to spread mulch, use a shovel, paint, and lift heavy objects. Ultimately we want to communicate to students that their summer can be used to help others. Serve camp will give them a memory of helping others they can carry with them the rest of their lives! Hopefully leave them with an appetite for serving!
No supplies needed.
Campers should bring close toed shoes, gloves, hat, sunglasses.
